Join us for a Colorado Humanities & Center for the Book Pubtalk with Dr. Layton Seth Curl, Chair of the Metro State College of Denver Department of Psychology and Dr. Rhea Dodd, CSU certified veterinary acupuncturist from Gentle Vet. Dr. Curl chairs the professional development and research activities in social and multicultural psychology as well as human sexuality. Dr. Dodd received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1992, and holds a Master's Degree in behavioral ecology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She became certified in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2001, and was then selected to help teach the acupuncture course at Colorado State University. Dr. Dodd has advanced training in behavioral medicine and has 15 years clinical experience solving animal behavior problems. She has trained her own dogs in obedience, rally-O, agility and sheep herding. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Dodd lectures, teaches and writes about pet behavior and alternative therapies. She has been featured on 9News, WB2, Channel 4, in the Denver Post, the Rocky Mountain News, the Denver Daily News and Colorado Parent. She is a popular speaker for such organizations as the Denver Dumb Friends League, the Cat Care Society, the Denver Veterinary Medical Association and Freedom Service Dogs.

Colorado Book Award winner for literary fiction, Teague Bohlen will lead 2 book discussions one over breakfast at the Oxford. Teague Bohlen is the author of the novel, The Pull of the Earth, published in 2006, and a writer for magazines and journals online and in-print, locally in Denver and nationwide. He teaches creative and non-fiction writing at the University of Colorado Denver and serves as the faculty advisor for the UCD student newspaper, The Advocate. Presented in Partnership with Colorado Humanities & Center for the Book.
