Athletic Fields

More than 100 athletic fields are available for a variety of uses including lacrosse, rugby, tennis, baseball, softball, soccer, football, ultimate frisbee, kickball and more. Twenty-two of our softball fields have lights, bleachers and press boxes. Tournaments or leagues are welcome.

Permit Information

Fall Season: August 13 - November 8

Athletic field and tennis court reservation requests for the Fall 2015 season will be made according to the timeline listed below. 
IMPORTANT: Please review this timeline in its entirety and adhere to its' deadlines.*

  • August 10: online permitting will begin at 6:00AM; in-person permitting at the Parks Permit Office** will begin at 8:00AM

June 29 Preliminary permits sent to youth and external groups who hold historical priority from fall 2014
July 6 DUE: Preliminary permit corrections from youth and adult external groups***
July 10 DUE: Payment for youth and adult external groups with historical priority
July 15 Final permits approved and sent to youth and adult external groups
July 16 List of unavailable fields and dates sent to all groups with current Online Service Center account in preparation for DRAFT DAY
July 18 DRAFT DAY is not mandatory but highly recommended, as remaining inventory will open to the general public on August 10.
July 27 Preliminary permits sent to external groups' reservation requests that were submitted on DRAFT DAY.
July 29 DUE: Preliminary permit corrections*** (DRAFT DAY participants)
August 5 DUE: Payment (DRAFT DAY participants)
August 9 Final permits approved and sent (DRAFT DAY participants)
August 10 Remaining inventory opened to the public on a first-come, first served basis.
6:00AM- online; 8:00AM- in-person at the Parks Permit Office
August 13 Fields/Courts open for play
November 8 Fields/Courts close for play

October 30 Final permits approved and sent to youth and adult
external groups
November 4 Remaining inventory opened to the public on a first-come, first served basis:
       -6:00AM: online;
       -8:00AM: in-person at the Parks Permit Office


*External groups are any group NOT affiliated with DPR, Denver Public Schools or the Police Athletic League program

Field Information

Artificial turf fields only available for permitting during the winter season. Fields include:

  • Lowry soccer 1 & 2
  • Parkfield football
  • Parkfield soccer 1 & 2
  • Valverde baseball 1, 2, 3 & 4
  • Valverde football 1, 2, & 3 
  • Please note that Valverde baseball and football overlap so they are unable to be permitted at the same time

There will be no DRAFT DAY this winter season.
