About the Mayor's Office for Education and Children

The Mayor's Office for Education and Children (MOEC) was established in 1995 to serve children and youth in the City of Denver from birth to young adulthood.  Partnering with Denver Public Schools and youth-serving programs across the City, MOEC supports Denver’s young people in exploring, engaging and succeeding in their communities and schools.  MOEC focuses on three broad areas designed to guide young people on a positive path:

Early Childhood Care
and Education

 After School and
Summer Programs

 Youth Development

To pursue its three focus areas, MOEC both designs new initiatives and intentionally invests resources in partnerships with community organizations delivering innovative programs.  MOEC’s efforts are achieving promising outcomes for the children and young people served.
