Denver Quality After School Connection

The Denver Quality Afterschool Connection (DQUAC) is a coalition of youth service providers working together to promote quality out-of-school time (OST) programming for youth.

The Office of Children's Affairs serves on DQUAC's leadership team.

Purpose

  • Support quality programming through sharing of best practices, professional development and evaluation
  • Contribute expertise to initiatives, organizations, and efforts locally, statewide and nationally
  • Raise public awareness and support for out-of-school time programming as a research-proven method to increase youth’s success in school and life, support families and improve the community

Collaborative Programming

A prominent example of DQUAC's collaborative spirit is Denver CAMP, an enriching summer camp with a variety of high quality activities at two sites, offered free of charge to 400 students.   The program is funded by leveraging financial support and resources from the Lights on Afterschool Initiative, Denver Public Schools and through in-kind program services from nearly 40 youth service providers.
