Voter Registration Where to Register You may register to vote or make changes to your voter registration in person or by mail using the Voter Registration Application Form. The following offices are designated as voter registration locations: Denver Elections Division, 3888 E. Mexico Ave., Denver Colorado Motor Vehicle Division offices Denver Department of Motor Vehicles offices Denver Department of Human Services offices Armed forces recruitment offices Any office providing state-funded services to persons with disabilities Note: Only the Denver Elections Division location at 3888 East Mexico Avenue is authorized to enter voter registrations into the state record system. Voter registration forms completed at the other listed agencies are forwarded to the Elections Division for processing. When registering at or near the registration deadline at any location other than at the Denver Elections Division, ask the alternate agency to validate the registration with a date and time stamp.   Qualifications In order to register to vote in Denver you must be: At least 18 years of age by the date of the election A citizen of the United States A resident of Colorado and of your Denver precinct at least 30 days prior to the election, and consider this your sole legal place of residence Please note: If you turn 18 years of age after the deadline to register for an election but before the election itself, you may register to vote prior to your 18th birthday. You must register before the voter registration deadline.   Before you register, please review the identification requirements.   2009 Deadlines: The deadline to register to vote is 29 days before the election.   Registration deadline for the November 3 Coordinated Election is 5 p.m., Monday, October 5.   If you registered to vote by mail, your registration form must have been  postmarked by 5 p.m. on the deadline date.   Privacy of Personal Information Voter registration rolls are public records, although personal information contained in voter registration records remains private.

Overseas or Emergency Registrations Overseas Voters Citizens living outside the U.S., including members of the military and spouses and dependents are eligible to register to vote in Denver, if Denver was your last domestic address.  This useful guidebook will give you the information you need to register to vote and to request a mailed ballot. To download the overseas voters registration form click here.  You must meet the usual voter registration deadlines: the Denver Elections Division must receive your application at least 29 days prior to an election if you wish to vote in that election.   Emergency Registration You may register to vote in an election after the voter registration deadline has passed if you appear in person at the Denver Elections Division, declare under oath that you wish to vote in the election and precinct for which the deadline was missed, and attest under oath to one of the following conditions: You were registered to vote in another Colorado county, moved to Denver County prior the deadline, but failed to register prior to the deadline. You applied to register to vote prior to the deadline using a federal post card application or mail registration application. You registered with a voter registration drive prior to the deadline and are able to produce a receipt from the registration form you filled out or state the location of the voter registration drive and provide an approximate date that you filled out the registration form. You registered at another agency under the National Voter Registration Act (Motor Voter): Department of Motor Vehicles, Human Services, Social Services etc.

Homeless / Criminal Convictions Voter Registration for Homeless People In order to register to vote a homeless person must have a mailing address. This may include a shelter, a homeless service provider, or a private residence, but may not be a Post Office box or general delivery.   Voter Registration for People With Felony or Misdemeanor Convictions People convicted of misdemeanors do not lose their right to vote. Cancellation of a Voter Registration The Election Division has limited authority under state and federal laws to remove registered voters' names from its records.
