The "BRUSH OFF” COMMUNITY CHALLENGE!
On Saturday August 3rd, Mayor Hancock, Councilman Paul Lopez and Denver Partners Against Graffiti welcomed over 100 volunteers for The “Brush Off” Community Challenge that was hosted at Barnum Park!
It was a very hands on event where community members, organizations and other volunteers put their teams together, rolled up their sleeves and gave “Graffiti the Brush Off” by painting vandalism from public property, fences, and lots of dumpsters! One team was lead by our very own Manager of Public Works, Jose Cornejo! In addition to graffiti removal, volunteers also picked up litter in Athmar Park, Barnum Park, Villa Park, Sun Valley and Westwood neighborhoods! Teams of awesome, hard-working volunteers ended the day with a light lunch, ice cream social, prize drawing and a sense of accomplishment!
Thanks to all who supported the BRUSH OFF Community Challenge! And thanks to all who are ready to pick up a brush and come on board!
Are you up for a challenge? You can give Denver the brush off by calling 311 to pick up free supplies to remove graffiti from your property or around your neighborhood, or to report graffiti in Denver!
