Welcome to the Denver Healthy People 2010 Website!
Denver Healthy People 2010 is a community-wide network of partners dedicated to making Denver a healthy place for all. The initiative is lead by the Denver Department of Environmental Health.
Our Mission: To make Denver a healthy place for all by:
- promoting a better quality of life and
- eliminating health disparities
|
|
by blending partnerships, best practices and health promotion to build a healthier community. Denver Healthy People 2010 uses the following guiding principles to make Denver a healthier community: 1) Collaborate; 2)Generate and Use Data; 3) Educate Leaders and Public; 4) Build Financial and Other Resources; 5) Use Multidimensional Health Efforts; and 6) Address Root Problems of Health.
Denver Healthy People 2010 is based on the goals of Healthy People 2010, the Nation’s agenda for promoting health. We are health promotion and prevention oriented since we know that, while access to health care is very important, it only addresses 10 percent of the causes of poor health, mainly because it comes into play after people are already sick, and it does little to keep people from being at risk.
Our Website is designed to provide information to help those interested in making a healthier Denver community.
