Frequently Asked Training Questions

How do I register for a training class?
To register for a training class offered through the Office of Human Resources' Denver City Employee University? Simply visit www.denvergov.org/cityu to access the training portal where you will be able to self enroll for any online or instructor led course available. 
 
How much does training cost?
Free
What classes are required for new employees?
There are three classes required under CS Rule 6 for new employees. They are: New Employee Orientation (NEO), Ethics and Public Accountability and Preventing Harassment, Workplace Violence and Bullying. Please check the training schedule for future dates.
 
What classes are required for new supervisors?
There are three classes required under CS Rule 6 for new supervisors. They are: Understanding CS Rules, Sexual Harassment and Employment LawPEP Workshop, and Effective Counseling and Discipline

How much time do I have to complete the required classes?
You must complete the courses during the first six months of employment.  Failure to complete the courses will result in your probation being extended until the courses are completed (usually in three month increments).

Our agency has special training needs. Can we contact the OHR Training staff for assistance?
Yes. We work with all agencies to assess your needs and develop a training program to improve organizational effectiveness and productivity.
