Welcome to Human Rights and Community Relations
  
The Agency for Human Rights and Community Relations (HRCR) was established by ordinance in 1948. The agency empowers communities to address local issues and strives to promote equal opportunity and protects the rights of all people regardless of race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability.

HRCR addresses issues concerning: 

•    Older adults

•    Racial, ethnic and religious minorities

•    Women

•    People with disabilities

•    Gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered people

•    Immigrants and refugees    

HRCR is the umbrella agency for the following offices:

In March of 2010, the Agency for Human Rights and Community Relations released its "A Picture of Poverty" Report.

The report looks at poverty in Denver through the eyes of various communities:

African Americans
American Indians
Asian Americans
Formerly Incarcerated
Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual & Transgendered
Immigrants and Refugees
Latinos
Older Americans
People with Disabilities
Women
