About Denver Human Services

Denver Human Services (DHS) helps and protects people of all ages. Our dedicated staff listen and advise, and help people apply for public assistance programs. We protect abused and neglected children and adults by making sure they live in safe environments and help both individuals and families in crisis. In addition, we help connect people to community resources that can help them in a time of need.

Denver Human Services has three offices that provide services; only the main office has staff for Child Support Services and Child Protection Services.

All of our offices are open to provide services Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Denver Department of Human Services has staff in the following Divisions and Offices: 

The Administration Division is responsible for the overall management of the Department and includes the offices of the Executive Director and Deputy Managers.

The Business Management Division is responsible for Contracting Services and fiscal management. 

The Child Support Enforcement Division is responsible for ensuring quality and timely Child Support Servicesand resources. 

The Child Welfare Division is responsible for providing Child Protection ServicesAdoption and Foster Careresources, and advocacy for Denver youth and children. 

The Office of Community Impact integrates Denver's Road Home, the Office of Drug Strategy, and the Veteran Services Office to work more collaboratively and effectively with internal and external partners. 

The Family & Adult Division is responsible for providing Adult Protectioncash assistance (TANF)Food Assistanceassistance with Medicaid and Medicare, and other help to Denver residents.

The Financial Services Division is responsible for providing timely and accurate Financial Services and information.
