Support a Child in Need This Spring: GIVE Denver Spring Gift Basket Drive Underway

Each spring, social workers and child advocates at Denver Human Services nominate a foster or underserved child to receive a gift basket to make their spring a bit brighter.  This spring, GIVE Denver hopes to bring smiles to more than 400 children and needs the support of the community to make this possible.

“I nominated a mom and her twin girls to receive baskets this year.  The family is trying very hard to do all the right things and get back on track.  I know the extra things aren’t easily accessible for them.  Showing this family that we as a community care and support them makes all the difference in the world,” Charis Carr, a social worker at Denver Human Services said.

The only way GIVE Denver can help is through the generosity of donors.

“Small tokens of generosity mean so much to the children and families we serve,” GIVE Denver Director Toni Panetta said. “Many of the children that receive baskets have experienced an incredible amount of traum in their young lives.  A basket filled with love and goodies goes a long way to reassuring  a child that there is someone that truly does care.”

The community can support the GIVE Denver Spring Gift Basket Drive by making a donation.  To make these baskets possible, GIVE Denver needs the following items:

  • Baskets
  • Candy
  • Small Toys
  • Coloring Books and Crayons
  • Toothbrushes and Toothpaste
  • Grass
  • Pre-assembled baskets

Monetary donations are also accepted. Please make checks payable to Denver Human Services.  All donations must be received by March 4, 2013 and should be delivered to GIVE Denver, 1200 Federal Blvd., Denver, CO 80204.

The GIVE Denver Spring Gift Basket Drive relies 100% on donations to make this program possible.
