Denver Human Services is seeking nominations from community members who have inspired and made a positive impact in children’s lives for the “Be the One Colorado Contest” in recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
“Denver Human Services (DHS) wants to recognize and promote individuals who are admirable role models for children in our community,” said DHS Manager Penny May. “We want to commend them for the positive impact they have had on our children.
"Community members are encouraged to nominate child care professionals, foster care parents, teachers, social workers, mentors and other individuals who have strengthened our community and helped families for the “Be the One Colorado Contest”.
“When we invest in healthy child development, we are investing in community and economic development, as flourishing children become the foundation of a prosperous and innovative society,” said May. “We want to highlight the people who make investing in children their highest priority.”
The “Be the One Colorado Contest” is accepting nominations now through April 15, 2013. At the end of the month, a selection committee will award the authentic Be The One Blvd. street sign created by Denver Public Works, along with other prizes to the top nominee.
