Project Schedule

Colfax Corridor Connections began in June 2012 and is expected to be completed in four phases. The list below identifies the projected schedule.

  • Phase 1: Public Scoping (Complete: Fall 2012) – Create the list of options for meeting mobility and transit needs in the corridor. 
  • Phase 2: Alternatives Analysis (Complete: Winter 2013) –  Conduct increasingly detailed evaluation of alternatives to eliminate flawed alternatives and identify those that best meet the needs of the corridor with the least environmental impact.
  • Phase 3: Conceptual Engineering/Environmental Analysis (In Progress) – Provide greater analysis on selected alternatives. 
  • Phase 4: Environmental Assessment (Dependent on Phase 3) – Present a final decision document reflecting results of the analysis.

The City and County of Denver will conduct extensive community outreach throughout the project to ensure that the recommended alternative is reflective of what is best for the communities within the East Colfax corridor.

Get Involved

The Colfax Corridor Connections team is wrapping up a year of technical analysis of the project’s three remaining alternatives (Enhanced Bus, Bus Rapid Transit and Modern Streetcar) as part of the transit Alternatives Analysis phase of the project. This summer/fall, the City will provide the public with additional information and feedback opportunities on the available options for improving mobility in the East Colfax Avenue travel corridor now and over the next 25 years.
