 Paid Internship Classifications Minimize
Below is a list of internship categories with brief descriptions and salary ranges for graduate and undergraduate university and college students:

Graduate Level

  • Attorney Intern – $19.51
    This is intern level work performing supervised, professional legal work in the prosecution of cases in municipal and state court. (View  current internship openings)
  • Professional Occupations Intern III – $15.38
    This is the third class of a three level series used for graduate level interns. The job responsibilities of this class are guided by the application of theoretical and technical aspects of the professional field. (View  current internship openings)

Undergraduate level

  • Professional Occupations Intern II – $13.68
    This is the second class of a three level series for undergraduate students (junior and senior level) who have completed over 60 credit hours or completed an Associate degree program and enrolled in a Baccalaureate degree program. The job responsibilities of this class are guided by the application of learned field knowledge outside of established procedures. (View  current internship openings)
  • Professional Occupations Intern I – $11.97
    This is the first class of a three level series. The class is an entry level classification based on job responsibilities guided by well established procedures. The Level II and Level III intern perform duties outside of established procedures. Eligible candidates must have  six (6) credit hours of college and be currently enrolled in a college program leading to a Baccalaureate or higher Degree in professional field specific to the department.  Unpaid Internships Minimize
The City and County of Denver, a multi-industry government service provider, offers unpaid interns a broad range of professional-level public sector experiences. The sponsoring City agency will work with the students sponsoring university or college to allow them to earn academic credit while interning. There are two types of unpaid internships available to applicants:

    • Mayor's interns work hours are a minimum of 20 hours but no more that 39 per week and are unpaid. Interns have the opportunity to work in several areas, either specializing in tailored projects or as a general policy assistant.
