Mayor Hickenlooper, Boston Mayor Menino
Agree on World Series Wager Featuring Local Brands and Charities
As the Colorado Rockies prepare to battle the Boston Red Sox in the Major League Baseball World Series, Mayor John Hickenlooper announced he and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino have agreed on a friendly wager featuring locally branded products and benefiting charity.
“The Colorado Rockies’ win streak has become civic cement for our entire region,” Hickenlooper said. “Now their success brings us together to support the Rox against the Sox in the World Series. We’re very excited for our home team. We’re equally thrilled at the opportunity to showcase our community and our regional brands.”
When the Rockies win the World Series, Boston
will send 100 cups of Legal Seafood Clam Chowder, 100 cups of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, 100 Boston Crème donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts and 100 Curse Reversed ice cream sandwiches from Brigham’s Ice Cream for Mayor Hickenlooper to serve at a charity of his choice.
Should the unthinkable occur and the Red Sox win the World Series, Denver
will send Boston 100 Quiznos sandwiches, 100 cups of Celestial Seasonings teas, 100 servings of Great Western Tortilla Company’s Mi Ranchito tortilla chips and Epic Valley Salsa and 100 scoops of Liks Rocky Road
ice cream for Mayor Menino to serve at a charity of his choice.
