Denver Justice Center Architect Competition Begins

Competing Architects Are Poised To Develop Their Teams and Submit Proposals

(DENVER) The Denver Justice Center architect competition is underway. Architects who responded to the Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) were notified by Thursday as to whether they are being asked to submit proposals. These finalists will identify local architectural partners and present their team and proposals to the selection jury in December.

The architects will also be introduced to the public the day prior to their December interviews, as part of an Architect Lecture Series for both the courthouse and detention facility. This will provide an opportunity for the community to see the signature architects’ vision and plans for the Justice Center firsthand.

The following firms have been selected to respond to a Request for Proposal (“RFP”):

Courthouse Finalists

Foster & Partner London, England
Kallmann McKinnell & Wood Boston, MA
Koetter Kim & Associates Boston, MA
Richard Meier & Partner Architects New York, NY
Robert A.M. Stern Architects (in association with 4240 Architects) New York, NY
Steven Holl Architects New York, NY

Detention Facility Finalists

Hartman-Cox Architects Washington, DC
HOK St. Louis, MO
Ten Arcquitectos (in association with RNL Design and Durrant) New York, NY
Valerio Dewalt Train Associates, Inc. Chicago, IL
