In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, most City and County of Denver offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18. Please see below for specific information on how the holiday will or will not affect the following City functions:
TRASH & RECYCLING COLLECTION
There will be no trash and recycling collection on Monday, Jan. 18. Service will be delayed by one day for the week (i.e. Monday collections on Tuesday, Tuesdays on Wednesday, Fridays on Saturday).
All Denver Workforce Centers will be closed Monday, Jan. 18 for the holiday. The City’s online hiring system will be available at www.denvergov.org/jobs.
3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE , DENVERGOV.ORG & DENVER 8 TV
3-1-1, the City’s information line for nonemergency services, will be closed Monday, Jan. 18. Updates are available continuously on www.DenverGov.org. Regular programming will continue on Denver 8 TV. City Council meeting will be televised Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.
PARKING METERS, PARKING CASHIERS AND PARKING MAGISTRATE
Parking meters will be free on Monday, Jan. 18. However, drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted. The Parking Cashier counter and the Parking Magistrate’s office in the Wellington E. Webb Building, 201 W. Colfax Ave., will be closed Monday. Parking violations may be paid using Public Works’ pay-by-phone system with your MASTERCARD or VISA. Dial 1-866-280-9988 and follow the recorded steps, or online at www.denverpvb.com. Please remember that you will need the citation number printed on the ticket when using the pay-by-phone system or making an online payment.
ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL CONTROL
The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed Monday, Jan. 18. Animal Control Officers will be available to respond to emergencies and enforce City regulations.
CITY-OWNED GOLF COURSES
Golf Courses will be open for regular business hours Monday.
Recreation centers will be closed Monday, Jan. 18. Please visit www.denvergov.org/parksandrec for regular center hours and locations.
DENVER COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICES
The five Denver County Motor Vehicle (vehicle registration) offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18.
Denver Human Services will staff its child protection emergency response team, and its child abuse and adult protection telephone hotlines.
The Marriage License counter will be closed Monday, Jan. 18.
EXCISE & LICENSES
Excise and Licenses’ customer service counters and offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18.
PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT COUNTERS
Public Works’ permit counters and the Right Of Way Enforcement (ROWE) office will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 18.
BUILDING PERMITS, ZONING PERMITS, BUILDING/ZONING/NEIGHBORHOOD INSPECTION SERVICES
Building and Zoning permit counters will be closed Monday, Jan. 18. No building/zoning/
neighborhood inspections will be scheduled that day.
The Wastewater Management Building, 2000 W. Third Ave., will be closed Monday, Jan. 18.
THEATRES & ARENAS VENUES
The Denver Coliseum will be operational Monday, Jan. 18 to support events and performances scheduled on that date. Red Rocks Amphitheatre, including the Visitor Center and Ship Rock Grille, will remain open to visitors during regular business hours. Denver County Court, as well as the state-operated Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building, are all closed Monday, Jan. 18.
All Denver Public Library locations will be closed Monday, Jan. 18. Many of the Library’s resources remain available when the buildings are closed via www.denverlibrary.org.
