DENVER – Mayor Michael B. Hancock today issued the following statement on the full Colorado House of Representatives being denied the opportunity to vote on the 2012 Colorado Civil Unions Act.
“I'm very disappointed that the full House was not provided the opportunity to consider the Civil Unions Act.
“But the march towards equality for every Coloradan does not end here. Those of us who are committed to liberty and justice for all will not rest. Our support will only grow and our resolve will only strengthen in this fight to extend long overdue equal rights to same-sex couples.
“Bending the arc of history towards justice is never easy and rarely happens without significant opposition. We must not waiver and we must never give up. Equal rights for all will prevail.”
