City and County Building Tower will light the sky in purple in support of the Colorado Rockies and Alzheimer’s Awareness Month

DENVER—The Denver City and County Building tower will be lit up in purple tonight to cheer on the Colorado Rockies in their quest for the World Series title. The lights will remain purple through November 21, 2007, in recognition of Alzheimer’s Disease awareness month. The 254 purple spot lights will come on at 6 p.m. and turn off at midnight.

Each year during the month of October, the City and County Building is lit with pink lights for breast cancer awareness month. This year, the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation offered to shorten the pink lighting display to support the Rockies and the Alzheimer’s Disease Association. Rosco Laboratories, which supplies the materials necessary for the pink lighting display, also donated the materials for the purple lighting display.
