Denver City government closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

In observance of the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays, all City and County of Denver offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1, respectively.

Please see below for specific information on how City functions will be affected during the holiday closures:

TRASH & RECYCLING COLLECTION
Trash and recycling will not be collected on Friday, Dec. 25 or Friday, Jan. 1. Both trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day for all Denver residents following the holiday closure. Collections scheduled for Christmas Day will instead be picked up on Saturday, Dec. 26. Collections scheduled for Friday, Jan. 1 will instead be picked up on Saturday, Jan. 2.

WORKFORCE CENTERS
All Denver Workforce Centers will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1. The City’s online hiring system will be available at www.denvergov.org/jobs.
 
3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE, DENVERGOV.ORG & DENVER 8 TV
3-1-1, the City’s information line for nonemergency services, will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1.  Updates are available continuously on www.DenverGov.org. Regular programming will continue on Denver 8 TV. No weekly City news, Denver Update, will be shown this weekend.
 
PARKING METERS, PARKING CASHIERS AND PARKING MAGISTRATE
Parking meters will be free on Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1. Drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted. The Parking Cashier counter and the Parking Magistrate’s office in the Wellington E. Webb Building, 201 W. Colfax Ave., will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1. Parking violations may be paid using Public Works’ pay-by-phone system with your MASTERCARD or VISA. Dial 1-866-280-9988 and follow the recorded steps, or online at www.denverpvb.com. Please remember that you will need the citation number printed on the ticket when using the pay-by-phone system or making an online payment.
 
ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL CONTROL
The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1. Animal Control Officers will be available to respond to emergencies and enforce City regulations.
 
CITY-OWNED GOLF COURSES
Golf Courses will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1. Golf Courses will reopen for regular business hours Saturday, Dec. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 1.
 
RECREATION CENTERS
Recreation centers will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1. Please visit www.denvergov.org/parksandrec for regular center hours and locations.
 
DENVER COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICES
The five Denver County Motor Vehicle (vehicle registration) offices will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1. 
 
HUMAN SERVICES
Denver Human Services will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1, but will staff its child protection emergency response team, and its child abuse and adult protection telephone hotlines.

MARRIAGE LICENSES
The Marriage License counter will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1.
 
EXCISE & LICENSES
Excise and Licenses’ customer service counters and offices will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1.
 
PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT COUNTERS
Public Works’ permit counters and the Right Of Way Enforcement (ROWE) office will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1.
 
BUILDING PERMITS, ZONING PERMITS, BUILDING/ZONING/NEIGHBORHOOD INSPECTION SERVICES
Building and Zoning permit counters will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1. No building/zoning/neighborhood inspections will be scheduled that day.
 
WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT
The Wastewater Management Building, 2000 W. Third Ave., will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1.
 
THEATRES & ARENAS VENUES
THEATRES & ARENAS VENUES
Some venues managed by the Division of Theatres & Arenas will be operational Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1 to support events and performances scheduled on those dates. The Visitor Center and Ship Rock Grille at Red Rocks Amphitheatre will be closed on Dec. 25, but will remain open to visitors during regular business hours on Jan. 1. COURTS
Denver County Court, as well as the state-operated Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building, are all closed Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1.

LIBRARIES
All Denver Public Library locations will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1. Many of the Library’s resources remain available when the buildings are closed via www.denverlibrary.org.
 
DENVER ELECTIONS DIVISION
The Denver Elections Division will be closed both Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1.
