Denver City government closed on President’s Day

In observance of the President’s Day holiday, all City and County of Denver offices will be closed Monday, Feb.15, 2010. Please see below for specific information on how City functions will be affected during the holiday closure:

 

TRASH & RECYCLING COLLECTION

Trash and recycling will not be collected on Monday, Feb. 15. Both trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day for all Denver residents following the holiday closure.

 

WORKFORCE CENTERS

All Denver Workforce Centers will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15. The City’s online hiring system will be available at www.denvergov.org/jobs.

 

3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE, DENVERGOV.ORG & DENVER 8 TV

3-1-1, the City’s information line for nonemergency services, will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15.  Updates are available continuously on www.DenverGov.org. Programming will continue on Denver 8 TV; regular coverage of Denver City Council is on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

 

PARKING METERS, PARKING CASHIERS AND PARKING MAGISTRATE

Parking meters will be free on Monday, Feb. 15. Drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted. The Parking Cashier counter and the Parking Magistrate’s office in the Wellington E. Webb Building, 201 W. Colfax Ave., will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15. Parking violations may be paid using Public Works’ pay-by-phone system with your MASTERCARD or VISA. Dial 1-866-280-9988 and follow the recorded steps, or online at www.denverpvb.com. Please remember that you will need the citation number printed on the ticket when using the pay-by-phone system or making an online payment.

 

ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL CONTROL

The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15. Animal Control Officers will be available to respond to emergencies and enforce City regulations.

 

CITY-OWNED GOLF COURSES

Golf Courses will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15. Golf Courses will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

 

RECREATION CENTERS

Recreation centers will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15. Please visit www.denvergov.org/parksandrec for regular center hours and locations.

 

DENVER COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICES

The five Denver County Motor Vehicle (vehicle registration) offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15. 

 

HUMAN SERVICES

Denver Human Services will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15, but will staff its child protection emergency response team, and its child abuse and adult protection telephone hotlines.

 

MARRIAGE LICENSES

The Marriage License counter will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15.

 

EXCISE & LICENSES

Excise and Licenses’ customer service counters and offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15.

 

PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT COUNTERS

Public Works’ permit counters and the Right Of Way Enforcement (ROWE) office will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15.

 

BUILDING PERMITS, ZONING PERMITS, BUILDING/ZONING/NEIGHBORHOOD INSPECTION SERVICES

Building and Zoning permit counters will be closed Monday, Feb. 15. No building/zoning will be scheduled that day.

 

WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT

The Wastewater Management Building, 2000 W. Third Ave., will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15.

 

THEATRES & ARENAS VENUES

The Visitor Center and Ship Rock Grille at Red Rocks Amphitheatre will remain open to visitors during regular business hours on Monday, Feb. 15. COURTS

Denver County Court, as well as the state-operated Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building, are all closed on Monday, Feb.15.

 

LIBRARIES

All Denver Public Library locations will also close on Monday, Feb. 15 in observance of the President’s Day holiday.

 

DENVER ELECTIONS DIVISION

The Denver Elections Division will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15.
