|New Denver Public Library branch open in Green Valley Ranch
The City and County of Denver and the Denver Public Library are pleased to announce that the Green Valley Ranch (GVR) Branch of the Denver Public Library (DPL) is open to the public. Metro area resident are invited to commemorate the opening with a community-wide grand opening celebration on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 4856 North Andes Court.
The $11.4 million dollar GVR Library is the first of three Better Denver Bond funded, newly constructed Denver Public Library branches to be completed or to begin construction as part of the Better Denver Bond library improvements.
All members of the community are invited to commemorate the opening of the GVR Branch Library with the day-long celebration on March 12th themed “Plains and Planes” acknowledging the surrounding plains landscape and the airplanes of nearby Denver International Airport, which gave rise to the GVR Library’s architectural inspiration.
Festivities will include: Remarks by Mayor Vidal and other Denver dignitaries, reception, and family-friendly activities throughout the day. For more information on the facility or the grand opening community day, visit www.denverlibrary.org.
