Denver City Government closed Friday for Veterans Day

DENVER – In observance of Veterans Day, most City and County of Denver offices will be closed Friday, Nov. 11.

Partner entities such as Denver Health and the Denver Zoo will remain open, as will agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport. Sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will report for duty as well.

Please see below for specific information on how City functions will be affected during the holiday closure:

3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE, DENVERGOV.ORG & DENVER 8 TV
3-1-1, the City’s information line for non-emergency services, will be closed Friday, Nov. 11. Updates are available continuously on www.DenverGov.org. Regular programming will continue on Denver 8 TV.

ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL CONTROL
The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed Friday, Nov. 11. Animal Control Officers will be available to respond to emergencies and enforce City regulations.

ARTS & VENUES DENVER
All venues managed by Arts & Venues Denver will be open for scheduled events and performances Friday, Nov. 11, and will take place as planned. The Red Rocks Amphitheatre, including the Visitor Center, the Trading Post and the Ship Rock Grille will be open during standard hours of operation.

BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS
Building and Zoning permit counters will be closed Friday, Nov. 11. No Building Inspections will be scheduled those days.

CITY-OWNED GOLF COURSES
Golf Courses will be open Friday, Nov. 11, weather permitting.

CLERK & RECORDER AND MARRIAGE LICENSES
The Office of the Clerk and Recorder – including marriage licensing, the Public Trustee, Records and Recording – will be closed Friday, Nov. 11.

COURTS
The Denver County Court will be closed Friday, Nov. 11. All state-operated courts, including the Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building will be closed for the holiday Friday, Nov. 11.

DENVER COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICES
The four Denver County Motor Vehicle (vehicle registration and titling) office locations will be closed Friday, Nov. 11. For vehicle renewal online, visit the state website at: https://www.colorado.gov/apps/dor/dmv/vehicle/registration/renewal/welcome.jsf

ELECTIONS DIVISION
The Denver Elections Division will be closed Friday, Nov. 11.

EXCISE & LICENSES
Excise and Licenses’ customer service counters and offices will be closed Friday, Nov. 11.

HUMAN SERVICES
Denver Human Services will be closed Friday, Nov. 11, but will staff its child protection emergency response team, and its child abuse and adult protection telephone hotlines.

LIBRARIES
All Denver Public Library locations will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day. Many of the Library's resources remain available when the buildings are closed via www.denverlibrary.org.

PARKING METERS, PARKING CASHIERS, PARKING MAGISTRATE AND BOOTS
Parking meters are free on Sundays and on recognized City holidays, and will be free Friday, Nov. 11 (Veterans Day) until 11:59 p.m. Drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted.

The Parking Cashier counter and the Parking Magistrate’s office will be closed Friday, Nov. 11.

Parking violations may be paid when the counter is closed by using any of the following options –citation number printed on the ticket is required:

  • Pay-by-phone at 1-866-280-9988 and follow the recorded steps using Visa or MasterCard.
  • Pay online at www.denverpvb.com using Visa or MasterCard.
  • Use the payment kiosk located outside of the Webb building on Court between 14th & 15th using Visa or MasterCard, or personal or business checks.
Note: There is a 2.5% transaction fee for online transactions and for using credit cards in the kiosks.

PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT COUNTERS
Public Works’ permit counters and the Right Of Way Enforcement (ROWE) office will be closed Friday, Nov. 11

RECREATION CENTERS
Recreation centers will be closed Friday, Nov. 11.

TRASH & RECYCLING COLLECTION
Trash and recycling will be collected on Friday, Nov. 11.

WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT
The Wastewater Management Building, 2000 W. Third Ave., will be closed Friday, Nov. 11

WORKFORCE CENTERS
All Denver Workforce Centers will be closed Friday, Nov 11. The City’s online hiring system will be available at www.denvergov.org/jobs.
