A message from Denver Human Services:
Denver’s Cold Weather/Emergency Shelter Plan is in effect. Outreach workers will be on the streets urging homeless people to come indoors. Several shelters are remaining open during the day to accommodate the homeless during frigid temperatures. Transportation to overflow shelter will be available as necessary. Anyone needing shelter should call 2-1-1 to be connected to resources and services courtesy of Mile High United Way.
A message from Denver’s Animal Care & Control:
Despite being covered in fur, pets are highly vulnerable to extreme temperatures. Please remember to keep pets indoors, where they can stay warm and dry.
A message from Denver International Airport:
While DIA is not expecting any additional impact from today’s snowstorm, Thursday and Friday are the busiest holiday travel days of the week. Travelers are encouraged to check with their airlines for the most updated flight information, allow extra time when driving to the airport and plan to be inside the airport two hours prior to their flight’s departure time.
