DENVER – Mayor Michael B. Hancock today named Sarah Kurz as Director of Marketing. Kurz is a marketing and mass communications specialist with experience in promoting complex issues and ideas on local and statewide levels.
“With her skills and knowledge, Sarah will make an excellent addition to the city team,” Mayor Hancock said. “She brings exemplary promotional skills to highlight the City’s programs and initiatives and showcase Denver as a world-class city where everyone matters.”
As Denver’s Director of Marketing, Kurz will coordinate the City’s departmental marketing efforts while working with local and regional partners on integrated initiatives to promote City priorities, tourism in Denver and the delivery of City services.
“I’m thrilled to be joining such a great team and to support Mayor Hancock’s vision for Denver,” Kurz said. “I look forward to partnering with the city agencies and departments to promote the important work they are doing everyday to support and improve our community.”
Since 2004, Kurz has been a key member of SE2, a Colorado-based mass communications firm focused on public issues, policy and social marketing. At SE2, she played an integral role in developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies for a number of diverse clients including nonprofits, foundations, corporations and campaigns.
A Denver native, Kurz serves on the board of the New America School, a system of charter schools devoted to new immigrants and English-language learners. She was recently named one of Colorado’s Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals by ColoradoBiz magazine. Kurz is a graduate of East High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University.
