Denver Motor Vehicle will perform VIN verifications for a nominal fee of $ 20.00 per vehicle.
A VIN verification is required when:
- A vehicle is brought into Colorado and is titled and/or registered out of state/country.
- A vehicle is transferred on a Purged Bill of Sale.
- A purchased vehicle is bought into Colorado and the title was issued from another state/country.
- A correction is required on the title pertaining to the vehicle description.
We will make every attempt to provide convenient customer service to the public by offering VIN verifications on days the weather permits. For the safety of our customers and staff, VIN verifications will not be performed during inclement weather. The hours for VIN verifications are 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and are at the discretion of branch management.
Air Care Colorado perform VIN verifications at some testing facilities.
Certified VIN Inspections are performed by law enforcement such as Colorado State Patrol.
