Small Business Week Forum to offer workshops on starting and strengthening small businesses in Denver.
The Denver Office of Economic Development has partnered with the Mile High Business Alliance to host the Small Business Week Forum, Saturday, May 21, at the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building, 201 W. Colfax Ave. The free event will feature numerous workshops and sessions in four tracks related to starting and strengthening small businesses in Denver.
“When it comes to small business, the City of Denver is dedicated to assisting owners and entrepreneurs with building successful, thriving companies,” said LaCharles Keesee, executive director of the Denver Office of Economic Development. “We’re proud to partner with Mile High Business Alliance to assemble a full day of workshops designed to assist businesses with sharpening their operations and improving their bottom line.”
The forum will provide an opportunity for small business owners to receive valuable training for their business, meet other small business owners, and ask important questions of experts in their field. Sessions will cover a wide variety of topics, including human resources, financing, community engagement, communications, marketing, search engine listings and more.
“Small and local businesses are the foundation of a resilient economy,” says Mickki Langston, co-founder and executive director of the business alliance. “It’s important that our local governments, economic development organizations and community members focus our expertise and investment on the small businesses who make our city thrive.”
The event is held in celebration of the Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Week, May 16-20, a national effort to train and support small businesses.
The Small Business Week Forum is co-sponsored by the Denver Office of Economic Development, Colorado Small Business Development Center Network, Denver Community Credit Union and other small business organizations.
