Denver solicits proposals for housing, neighborhood and business projects

Office of Economic Development issues notice of funding availability for 2014

The Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) today announced its issuance of a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for projects to be funded in 2014. OED is soliciting proposals in three areas, including housing, neighborhood development/services, and economic development, all of which can be submitted using one online application form that will guide the applicant through various required documents and information.

OED is seeking exceptional projects and related services that make a positive impact on neighborhoods in a noticeable way. The NOFA makes available public funds that could be used by non-profit and for-profit providers to facilitate the development of viable urban neighborhoods by providing quality affordable housing, an enhanced living environment and expanded economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents.

A question and answer session for applicants will be held on Monday, July 22 in the Wellington Webb Building, 201 W. Colfax, in Room 4.F.6/4.G.2 beginning at 2 p.m.

As in previous years, selected projects and activities are funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS programs.

The deadline to submit funding applications is Monday, August 5, 2013. Additional information and the online application form are available at denvergov.org/OED.
