January 25, 9 am Grant Frontier Park
2300 S Platte River Dr. South at S. Platte River Drat off E. Evans Ave., east of river. This walk will focus on the winter-ing ducks and geese along the South Platte River.
February 22, 9 am Washington Park
Entrance at 700 S. Downing, Meet at parking lot south of north lake west of boathouse. We will view waterfowl as well as winter residents and visitors and often raptors at this historic park.
March 29, 9 am Bear Creek Park
3550 S Raleigh St East on Dartmouth from Sheridan Blvd, south on S. Raleigh under 285 to first parking lot by the river. This is a rich riparian area with birds and wildlife to view. Spring will be singing here!
April 12, 9 am City Park
West park entrance off 23rd Ave and University, Meet at Pavilions park lot—south of Zoo, east of play area Migrat-ing birds are arriving and busy making nests at the rookeries on Duck and Ferrell Lakes.
May 31 , 9 am Red Rocks Mountain Park
I-70 west, exit 259, left 1.5 miles to entrance 1 take road up to the Trading Post lot. This world famous park has amazing bird diversity. Enjoy colorful migrating and resident species along the roads and trails.
June 21, 9 am Genesee Mountain Park
20 miles west of Denver on 1-70, south off exit 254. Take road back to park. Meet at main park lot. This is a hidden jewel for birds in the hills!
July 26, 9, 12pm Echo Lake and Summit Lake Mountain Parks
13261 State Highway 10, take squaw pass or Mt Evans road off 1-70 to shelter. We will look for mountain and alpine species with expert birders to guide us! Join us for this extended walk and bring a picnic or snack.
August 23, 9 am Newton Park
11026 S. Hwy 285 just west of Conifer. Take Kennedy Gulch exit then left on Co Rd 97 for .5 mile. Birds are active in the meadow and forest at this more remote Mountain Park.
September 13, 9 am Cook Park
7100 Cherry Creek Dr S, meet in Rec center parking lot. Great area to view riparian activity along the creek and in the adjacent parks.
October 11, 9 am Harvey Park
2120 S Tennyson Way. Off Evans, east of Sheridan. This urban park offers good lake and song bird sightings.
November 8, 9 am Rocky Mountain Lake Park
3301 W 46th Ave. See migrating waterfowl and resident species at this historic park. Good area to learn more about ducks.
December 6, 9 am, Kennedy Golf at Cherry Creek.
Kennedy Ball Fields east of Dartmouth and south on Kenton St (between Havana and Parker Rd) This is a vast section of open space below the dam on Cherry creek. Prairie and riparian species enjoy this area year round.
