Mayor Hickenlooper Announces Free Summer Recreation
Mayor Hickenlooper announced today that thanks to a $150,000 donation from the Kaiser Permanente Foundation, Denver pools and recreation centers will be free for all Denver youth, 17 years and younger, beginning tomorrow, June 27, 2009 through Saturday, August 15, 2009. Kaiser Permanente Colorado President Donna Lynne, DrPh, joined Mayor Hickenlooper for the announcement. Also on-hand were Denver Parks and Recreation Manager Kevin Patterson and City Council members Michael Hancock and Doug Linkhart. All three month youth memberships purchased between June 1, 2009 - June 26, 2009 will be automatically extended to September 30, 2009.
