Four Mile Historic Park: Hay Bales and Tall Tales Story Time June 7
On the first Saturday of each month, the Four Mile Historic Park presents a FREE family-friendly story time starting at 11 a.m. to approximately 12:00 p.m.  While you enjoy the interesting setting of Four Mile Historic Park, guests will gather around the campfire or picnic table and be transported through stories of an earlier time with a fun activity to follow.  For more information, call 720-865-0800 or visit http://www.fourmilehistoricpark.org/.
   

Denver Forestry: Tree Grants Offered for New Street Trees
Applications are now being taken for neighborhood tree planting projects. This is your opportunity to organize a neighborhood tree-planting project for street trees in your area and to organize your tree planting party for Fall 2008! All that is needed is an application and a maintenance agreement to qualify for trees on your block or entire neighborhood. The deadline for applications is Friday, June 27, 2008. Applications are available through www.denvergov.org/forestry or you can call Kiki Romero at 720-913-0649, or email kiki.romero@denvergov.org.
   

City Park Golf Course: Golf Tournament for Youth and Kids June 13
The First Tee Triple Play Golf Tournament is a fundraiser to allow low income and disadvantaged youth to learn how to play golf and compete in a supportive setting. The mission of The First Tee of Denver is to use golf as a tool to educate kids academically, socially, and physically. Thousands of youth have participated in the multi-faceted program that incorporates academic achievement, team work, and golf instruction in a fun learning environment.. Child Care Program Starts at Selected Parks
The Summer in the Parks program is still taking registrations for children ages 7- to 12. Summer in the Parks is an eight-week age-appropriate, licensed child care and comprehensive recreation program that includes art, crafts, active games, sports, playground games, water games, field trips and special events. Children will enjoy outdoor fun activities while fostering team dynamics and building new friendships. The program is Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It starts the week of June 9 and continues through August 1, 2008 and is available at five park locations:  Bible Park, City Park, Clayton College at Barrett Elementary, Rosamund Park and Sloan's Lake Park.
