Upcoming Events

Below is the list of the 2010 Events.

 

ARBOR DAY:

Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. It was founded by J. Sterling Morton in Nebraska in 1872. Historically it is held the last Friday in April.

 

This year, Arbor Day will be held at Parkfield, located on 53rd & Chambers on Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 8:00 am-12:00 pm

 

All tools will be provided for the project. It is suggested you bring your own gloves and water bottle. Dress for any weather. Do not bring pets.

TRAILS DAY:

Trails Day will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 8:00 am- 12:00 pm along the Bear Creek Trail, located off Raleigh & 285 (Hampden). This year, we need 150 volunteers to assist us with graffiti removal, mulching trees, weeding and pruning along an urban trail

 

All tools will be provided for the project. It is suggested you bring your own gloves and water bottle. Dress for any weather. Do not bring pets. Children must be supervised by an adult.

RIVERSWEEP:

In partnership with the Greenway Foundation, Denver Parks + Recreation is seeking 300 volunteers to help cleanup an 11-mile stretch of the South Platte River Trail on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.   

 

Volunteers are needed to help their park for a multi-task project including; trash pickup, weed designated areas, clean the banks and seed natural areas from boarder to boarder along the South Platte River Trail in the City and County of Denver.

 

All tools will be provided for the project. It is suggested you bring your own gloves and water bottle. Dress for any weather. Do not bring pets. Children must be supervised by an adult.

Put The Beds to Bed (PTBTB)

Groups, families, and individuals from the neighborhood and surrounding area are encouraged to participate. Children must be supervised by an adult.

 

Over 300 volunteers are needed at Civic Center Park, City Park, and Washington Park Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 8:30 am- 12:30 pm to remove annual flowers, drag tarps, load flowers in trucks, over-turn dirt, and dig dirt at our annual PTBTB event.  

 

All tools will be provided for the project. It is suggested you bring your own gloves and water bottle. Dress for any weather. Do not bring pets. Children must be supervised by an adult.
