In April of 2009, your Citywide Payroll and Administration division of the Controller’s Office was awarded with the reputable 5281 Award for their outstanding service and dedication, but they didn’t stop there. The Citywide Payroll and Administration division is now turning heads nationwide, as they are recognized in the November issue of PayTech magazine for receiving the American Payroll Association’s 2009 Prism Award for Overall Best Practices. Prism Award winners are chosen once a year by the subcommittee chairs of American Payroll Association’s Strategic Payroll Leadership Task Force. Winning the Prism Award is an honor for any payroll department, as it shows that they leading the industry with their practices. A government agency winning the Prism Award; however, is almost unheard of. The only other government entity to win this award was Orange County school district of California in 2004. Citywide Payroll and Administration now joins the payroll departments from companies such as Lowe’s, H&R Block and Merrill Lynch as leaders of the payroll industry.
Congratulations Citywide Payroll and Administration for winning the 2009 Prism Award and thank you for your continued service to the employees of the City and County of Denver.
