1200 block of Clayton Street homicide

On December 16, 2011, at 7:24 a.m. Denver Police received call of a vehicle that ran into a garage in the 1200 block of North Clayton Street. Officers responded to the incident and found a female victim in the vehicle who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. Denver Police arrested Ryan Miller (DOB: 07/02/84). Miller is being held for investigation of Attempted Murder. Through the investigation it has been learned the victim and the suspect were acquaintances.

Denver Police are not releasing the mug-shot of Miller due to pending photo line-ups. We are asking that his picture not be aired or published until these line-ups are completed. If his picture is aired or published it may jeopardize the investigation.

The victim of the shooting in the 1200 block of North Clayton Street was pronounced dead on the evening of Friday, December 16th. This victim’s identity and her cause of death will be released by the Office of the Medical Examiner.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on Monday, December 19th and will release the identity of the victim per their standard procedures. However, the Denver Police Department will confirm that the victim in this case was the victim of an alleged domestic violence incident with the suspect, Ryan Miller, on December 3, 2011.

This case remains an active investigation.
