Girl Scout Daisy Troop recognizes Denver Police Department

Girl Scout Daisy Troop recognizes Denver Police Department

On Wednesday, March 28th, 2012 at 2:00 pm, Denver Police Officers of District Five will be holding an award ceremony to honor officers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. During the ceremony District Five Police Officers will be recognized by the five and six year olds of a Girl Scout Daisy Troop as their Hometown Hero. The ceremony will take place at District Five, 4685 Peoria Street, 80239.

The Girl Scouts of Colorado’s Hometown Heroes/Gift of Caring Program pays tribute to the military and uniformed personnel for their dedication and service to the community. The Girl Scouts will learn about the police officers and the police department. They will tour the District Station and spend time with the officers. This will serve as a community service project for the troop. Citizens were encouraged to participate in this Hometown Heroes/Gift of Caring project during this year’s Girl Scout Cookie Program by donating a box of Girl Scout Cookies through their local troop.

Congratulations to the Denver police officers of District Five for their continued duty in protecting the citizens of Denver.
