The Denver Police Department is partnering with several local businesses to provide sports equipment to under-privileged youth. Children who donate used equipment will be recognized during a ceremony that will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Denver Police Athletic League located at 1240 West Bayaud Avenue, Denver CO.
The Denver Broncos, Jumpstreet, Rocky Mountain Hospital, Denver Police Athletic League and Johnson Moving and Storage are working together and have been collecting sports gear for several weeks. Jumpstreet and four RMHC locations have served as drop-off points.
Each child that donates equipment is given a voucher for Jumpstreet and is entered into a raffle for a behind the scenes tour of Denver Broncos Training Camp, and given four tickets to a preseason Broncos game. Representatives from each organization will be at the ceremony to present the awards.
In addition, PAL will select and present the winner of the "Celena Hollis Good Citizenship Award.” Jumpstreet has raised $7,500.00 for the daughter of Officer Hollis to be given through the Denver Police Orphan's Fund.
