On Sunday April 8, 2012, at 11:52 a.m. Denver 911 received a call regarding an Auto/Pedestrian accident at 6200 West Hampden Avenue on the south side frontage road. The initial investigation has determined the driver of a white SUV lost control of the vehicle, ran over a pedestrian jogging on the sidewalk and then ran into the house at 3545 South Harlan Street. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A victim from inside the house suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

White will honor several outstanding Denver Police Officers with the highest awards given by the department. Denver Police are seeing an increase in cell phone thefts across the country, particularly in the Northeast. In Denver, the number of phones taken in the commission of a crime from January 1, 2012 through April 1, 2012 is 462, which is the same number for that time period in 2011.
