Street Closure Permits: Police Special Events Unit

We plan, coordinate and oversee traffic-related activities and permits associated with very specific types of special events in the City and County of Denver.  These include:

  • Parades
  • Sporting events
  • Special event that requires the closure of streets (such as running events or bicycle events)
  • VIP visits (such as the President United States)

2014 Temporary CAP on all Runs/Races/ and Bike Rides. There are upcoming public meetings about the City's policies and procedures on permitting special events. Download the Public Meeting Flyer.

For all other special event permit applications, visit Denver's Special Events website. Applications for one of the event types listed above must be made in person at the below address:
