Qualifications: Members are appointed by the mayor from nominations submitted by one or more of the following entities: City Council representative, the Denver chapter of the American Institute for Architects, Historic Denver, History Colorado, the Mountain and Plains office of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and registered neighborhood organizations that represent the entirety of the district. In addition, the following backgrounds must be represented: property owner in the district, historic preservationist, resident of the district, owner or operator of a business in the district, real estate developer, practicing architect, and a preservation architect. Two of the four members shall not live in, own or operate a business in, practice professionally in or otherwise represent interests in the district.
