TREECYCLE - December 31 through January 11
2008 Christmas tree collection has been completed.

Recycle Your Tree After the Holidays
Denver Recycles' annual Treecycle program will be recycling thousands of Christmas trees into mulch again this holiday season. Treecycle helps Denver avoid using landfill space and paying disposal fees for a valuable, recyclable resource -- Christmas trees.

Denver Recycles
grinds the Christmas trees into valuable mulch, which is made available FREE to Denver residents in the spring. In 2006, Treecycle recycled more than 22,000 trees, which were reclaimed by Denver residents at last spring’s Treecycle Mulch Giveaway and Leafdrop Compost Sale. Residents may call 720-865-6810 after April 1st for more information about the 2008 Treecycle Mulch Giveaway and Leafdrop Compost Sale.

Holiday Tree Recycling
Thousands of residents participate each year in Denver's annual Treecycle program. This seasonal program keeps holiday trees out of our landfills and helps the city by reducing disposal fees. Tree collection is typically offered during the first two weeks of January.

man carrying treeAll Denver residents who are customers of Denver's Solid Waste Management Division may participate. To recycle your holiday tree, all decorations must be removed from the tree, including tinsel, ornaments, nails, stands and bags. Flocked trees cannot be recycled.

Denver's Treecycle program recycles more than 22,000 trees each year. The resulting wood-chip mulch from each year's collection is offered for free to Denver residents later in the spring. Adding the mulch to your plants and garden can help retain soil moisture, control weeds, and protect shallow-rooted plants from weather extremes.

Please call us at 3-1-1 after April 1 for more information about the next Treecycle Mulch Giveaway and Leafdrop Compost Sale.
