Community Recreation Community Recreation plans, implements, and administers recreation programs for the entire Denver community, with specific emphasis of serving those who do not typically participate in, or have access to, traditional recreation center-based programs. Some of our programs include the S.O.A.R. (Social Opportunities, Arts, and Recreation) After School Programs (9 sites) and the Scholars After School Programs (7 sites).  These programs are located in various Denver Public Schools throughout the city. Summer Programs include Summer in the Parks, Summer Scholars, Teen Adventures, T-Ball, Coach Pitch, and Youth Track and Field. Our sports programs are offered throughout fall, winter, and spring and include Pee Wee flag football, basketball as well as Winter Track and conditioning. Community Recreation collaborates with recreation centers, the Special Needs Program, and other community agencies and institutions dedicated to serving the needs of the youth in our communities.

Urban Blends Programs The “Urban Blends” art show is a pilot event & publication created to demonstrate, illustrate and recognize the efforts and talents of middle school youth in the various Denver Parks and Recreation After School Programs: Social Opportunities through Arts and Recreation (SOAR).  The event will display the work of this year's programs along with performing F.R.E.S.H. hip hop students.
