The Mayor’s office, City Council and the Department of Safety are working with neighborhood businesses, civic organizations and non-profit groups to assist Denver’s communities in hosting National Night Out (NNO) events on Tuesday, August 7.

The Department of Safety’s Gang Reduction Initiative of Denver (GRID) and Denver’s Office of Drug Strategy, in conjunction with the Southwest Community Network Coalition, will host the 2012 Safe Summer Kickoff at Kepner Middle School on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., rain or shine.

From April 6, 2012 through September 30, 2012, Denver Safe City diversion officers and Denver police officers will team-up to run the Denver SafeNite Program. The program offers court diversion opportunities for youth 17 years of age and younger while police actively enforce Denver’s Curfew Ordinance.

Manager of Safety Alex Martinez and Deputy Manager Ashley Kilroy today announced Jess Vigil as Deputy Manager of Police Discipline for the Department of Safety. The position is responsible for reviewing investigative files, making recommendations, and overseeing disciplinary proceedings and other administrative matters for the Police Department.
