The Technology, Support and Special Projects Division is responsible for the department's overall administration and special projects. The division is responsible for the implementation of all new projects directly affecting the department. Division Chief Marie Kielar is in charge of the Technology, Support and Special Projects Division.
Units within the division include Administrative Services, Research and Development, Sheriff Information Technology Support, the Vehicle Impound Facility
and the Training Academy.
Administrative Services have the responsibility of all Personnel and Payroll issues, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Purchasing. In addition, the Finance Group compiles the annual budget and performs the annual physical inventory for the department.
The Research and Development Unit provides updates for policies and procedures pertaining to the department.
The Training Academy is responsible for planning and developing training programs for the Sheriff Department, including both sworn and civilian employees. The Sheriff Academy also has the responsibility of maintaining training records, implementing and coordinating training programs, selecting instructors, and evaluating training programs.
