The Van Cise-Simonet Detention Center is located at 490 W. Colfax Avenue. The entrance to the Detention Center can be accessed by traveling southbound on Elati Street from Colfax Avenue or northbound on Elati Street from 14th Avenue. Paid public parking is located in the parking garage at 14th and Delaware streets. There is also metered parking located throughout the area; however there is no parking on Elati Street directly in front of the facility.
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) has bus routes (#9 and #7) which stop near the Detention Facility and there are also lightrail stations at Auraria Campus and the Denver Theatre District/Convention Center that are a short walking distance from the Detention Facility.
