Extreme Marketing Makeover for Nonprofits Friday, December 05, 2008 | 4 ° Clear
Extreme Marketing Makeover for Nonprofits is a joint project of DOSP and Idée-Force established in 2006 as a way to support small local nonprofits that need the most assistance with branding and marketing. The Makeover enables the selected nonprofit to improve and strengthen its brand image and take advantage of the development of new and improved marketing materials.

On January 22, 2008, Rocky Mountain Housing Development Corporation was announced as the 2008 Extreme Marketing Makeover Winner.

"Rocky Mountain HDC is very excited about winning the Extreme Marketing Makeover and working with Idée-Force. A few years ago we tried to transform our identity by redesigning our logo, website, and brochure but feel like we keep going down the same marketing road with little results. It’s time for us to take a new marketing path and we are very grateful to have Idée-Force to point us in the right direction."
Joyce Alms-Ransford
Executive Director
Rocky Mountain HDC

Idée-Force donates roughly $100,000 in pro bono services to nonprofits each year and this is one more way the company uses its marketing skills to support Denver's nonprofit community. Past recipients include: Project Wise (2006 recipient) and Groundwork Denver (2007 recipient).

Look for the 2009 Extreme Marketing Makeover Contest to be coming your way in late winter 2008!

Thank you from Groundwork Denver, 2007 Winner - Wednesday, April 09, 2008
"Groundwork Denver’s new website, developed through the Extreme Marketing Makeover by Idée-Force, has made a huge difference to our organization. We are regularly contacted by people who want to volunteer, we’ve received several donations, and get numerous requests for information. All of this has happened before we have really even promoted the site. Soon we’ll be starting regular email updates with the graphic email template, also created by Idée-Force, that will expose more people to our website. I’m also sure that funders look at us much more seriously because our website is professional and up-to-date."
- Wendy Hawthorne, Executive Director, Groundwork Denver

2007 Winner Chosen for their Commitment - Thursday, February 07, 2008
"We selected Groundwork Denver through our vigorous application process for a few reasons: Their mission to support a broad range of environmental improvements has the potential to positively impact the quality of life for all Denverites. Their dedicated staff but extremely small budget and limited resources demonstrated a critical need for marketing assistance. Their passion and enthusiasm are contagious and point to their commitment to succeed."
- Heather Gallien, President of Idee Force Communications

Thank you from Project Wise, 2006 Winner - Monday, February 04, 2008
“Thank you does not seem adequate for the services Idée-Force has provided to Project Wise with the marketing makeover. The new logo, web site and other materials have enhanced our professional appearance and represent the essence and spirit of our organization. The makeover has been directly influential in improving our fundraising efforts, and our messaging to attract new participants to our programs. The marketing makeover provided by Idée-Force was a strong and necessary complement to our organization’s succession plan and we are confident that it will continue to capture the spirit of our messaging we promote well into our future.”
Regina D. Richards, Executive Director of Project Wise, Extreme Marketing Makeover for Nonprofits Winner 2006.

Winning Poem by 2008's Winner - Rocky Mountain HDC
"The Road Taken Home" - Winning Poem submitted by Rocky Mountain HDC

Two roads diverged on a cold Metro Denver Road,
And sorry we could not travel both
And being many travelers, long we stood,
And looked down one as far as we could,
Perplexed by the undergrowth of nonprofit marketing.

We took the other road, as just as fair,
Redesigning our logo, website, and brochures
Because it was sassy and we wanted more exposure;
Though as for our efforts passing there
Had worn them really about the same as all other affordable nonprofit housing developers.

And then one morning Idee Force came our way
With marketing strategies no step had trodden.
Oh, our elation was hard to control!
And knowing our new marketing strategies were leading us in the way,
We doubted if we would ever come back to our old marketing.

We shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in Metro Denver, and we -
We took the one less traveled by on our Road Home
And that has made all the difference.
