    Denver Environmental Health’s Certifiably Green Denver (CGD) staff, Mayor Michael B. Hancock and District 8 Councilman Albus Brooks recognized Denver’s newly certified green businesses and those interested in how to become a sustainable business at its annual Green Business Showcase yesterday July 16th at Ace, Eat, Serve in Uptown.

    City residents will now be allowed to sell from their homes fresh produce and “cottage foods” that they grow and make themselves, thanks to an amendment to the Denver Zoning Code adopted last night by Denver City Council.

    With the EPA's Clean Power Plan Proposal to reduce carbon pollution from existing power plants recently released for public feedback, it's clear that Colorado is already a leader among states for strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Join us at The Alliance Center for the August Sustainability Series as we explore current strategies in Colorado to mitigate and adapt to climate change; from an overview of the EPA's proposed rules to the release of Denver's aggressive Climate Change Adaptation Plan and beyond. Anyone working on or interested in climate change mitigation is encouraged to attend and contribute to the conversation!

The presentation concept is TedX style, where speakers have just a few minutes to present and inspire the audience about their topic. Switch~ is an opportunity for energy change-makers to meet, spread cutting-edge ideas, and network with other  professionals who are driving social change and industry innovation.
