Activity Summary

Denver’s 2006 Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Strategic Plan has served as a guide for prioritizing the city’s planning activities within the vicinity of transit stations. In the last five years, Denver City Council has adopted ten station area plans focused on creating vibrant transit-oriented communities. The TOD Strategic Plan update will assess lessons learned from these planning efforts and shift the focus toward implementation of TOD. The plan will identify strategies for close coordination among City departments, partners and communities in order to effectively create thriving transit-oriented communities.

This update will include a qualitative market assessment to identify actions that would remove impediments to affordable and mixed-income housing and other transit-supportive uses. These additions will provide the framework for future station area plans, as well as help inform investments and implementation of existing plans.
