Treasury Division

The Treasury Division collects, records, and deposits all City taxes and revenues, and disburses money as required by law.  The Treasury Division's other responsibilities include: enforcement of tax compliance; and administration of the City's property tax and rent rebate programs for the elderly and the disabled. 
 
The Treasury Division is located at 201 W. Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80202.  At our 201 W. Colfax location, we accept credit cards (VISA and MasterCard only) and debit cards cash, checks, money orders, and Cashier's or Official checks.

The Treasury Division is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  We are closed for the following holidays: Martin Luther King Day,Presidents' Day, Cesar Chavez Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Vision/Mission of Treasury Division

Vision: To be a continually progressive agency that utilizes its human resources and technology capabilities to effectively and efficiently collect taxes owed with the least disruption and burden to taxpayers.

Mission: To promote and facilitate voluntary compliance, strive to ensure fairness, and to collect tax revenue that funds city services.

This is accomplished by administering taxation law so that it is as straightforward and easy as possible for Denver taxpayers to comply with, and by providing taxpayer education and support resources.

2.     Strive to ensure fairness

Regardless of a taxpayer’s size, industry or prominence, Denver tax law will be uniformly and equitably applied.

3.     Collect tax revenue that funds city services

Fairly and reasonably collect all taxes that are legitimately due.
