Mobile Assessments Available Beginning January 1, 2021
Beginning January 1, 2021, all assessments, excluding the supervisor assessment, can now be completed on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Due to this update, all previous assessment scores (excluding the supervisor assessment) will no longer be valid as of January 1, 2021. Individuals who will strengthen their capabilities and management and who will coach and develop strong contributors prepared to meet the evolving opportunities a growing city. Therefore, as part of the application process, candidates who meet minimum qualifications will be required to take an on-line supervisor competency assessment.

I did not receive the assessment email. What should I do?

I am having technical issues with my assessment/test. Who do I contact?

If you experience any technical difficulties accessing or taking the tests, please contact SHL by submitting an online request for assistance. To submit an online request, please copy and paste into your internet browser. You will then need to select the issue you need assistance with and submit an assistance request form.

I applied to several positions. Do I have to take the assessment for each one?

You must click on the link you are sent for each application. If you have completed the required assessment within 180 calendar days you will receive a message stating that we already have your results and you will be redirected to the assessment webpage. If you need to complete the test or assessment you will receive instructions and begin the assessment.

How long do I have to complete the assessment/test?

You will have five (5) calendar days to complete the assessment/test. This five days includes the day you are sent the link. After five days the link will deactivate.

How do I know if I passed the assessment/test?

You will receive an email notifying you whether you passed the assessment or test shortly after completing it.
