¡Qué Viva la Raza! Honoring a Denver Legacy at Sie FilmCenter
To honor and preserve the history of La Raza — the Mexicano, Chicano, Latino peoples of Denver — Community Planning and Development partnered with Denver's Office of Storytelling and the Mayor’s Office of Social Equity and Innovation to create the city's first historic context that focuses on a specific ethnic, racial or cultural group to guide preservation planning.
For the past year, we've interviewed La Raza about the places and spaces that hold historical and cultural significance to them. Their stories are part of our latest documentary ¡Qué Viva La Raza! Honoring a Denver Legacy. Join us on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. as we screen the film and discuss the findings from this first-of-its-kind historic context project.
This event is free and open to the public. Reservations required.
